Leigh Lambrecht (formerly Hagglund), DNP, APRN, CNP
Many people reach out for help when they feel stuck—whether in anxiety, depression, difficult relationships, or a life that no longer feels aligned with who they truly are. Often there is a sense that something needs to change, but the path forward is unclear.
I work with adults who are thoughtful, introspective, and interested in understanding themselves more deeply. Many of my clients are drawn to exploring the psychological, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of healing. Together we look beneath surface symptoms to understand the patterns and unconscious dynamics shaping your experience.
As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I provide both psychotherapy and medication management. My approach is integrative and psychodynamic, blending evidence-based treatment with mindfulness and insight-oriented work. The goal is not only symptom relief, but developing greater awareness, emotional balance, and the tools needed to move forward in a meaningful way.
My Approach
At heart, I am a truth seeker.
My work has been deeply influenced by Jungian psychology and contemplative traditions such as yoga philosophy, Buddhism, and other wisdom traditions. These perspectives inform how I understand healing—not simply as eliminating symptoms, but as reconnecting with the deeper aspects of yourself and living with greater clarity and intention.
In our work together, therapy becomes a process of exploration: understanding the forces that shape your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing insight, resilience, and self-trust.
Professional Background
I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Minnesota and later earned both my Master’s degree and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from The College of St. Scholastica. My career in mental health began in community settings working with individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness, followed by experience in hospital psychiatric and substance-use treatment units.
These experiences shaped my commitment to treating each person as an individual and tailoring care to their unique needs. During my doctoral training I also taught as an associate professor in the psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner program at The College of St. Scholastica.
In 2018 I founded Truyu Health & Wellbeing with the intention of creating a practice where people feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported in their healing process.
A Little More About Me
When you work with me, you can expect a collaborative and thoughtful process. I listen carefully, communicate openly, and strive to create an environment where you feel safe exploring difficult experiences and discovering new ways forward.
And sometimes there’s an extra helper in the office—Kirby, my long-haired dachshund—who is always happy to offer a wagging tail and a little warmth to brighten the day.
